Fiestaware

Yesterday, we drove to Logan, OH--the transfer point where Marissa would be released to her parents in exchange for Christmas gifts. The exchange went well. But the point of this little blog update is not about our sadness over losing Marissa for 3 weeks. I can't bear to write about it. Instead, I wish to alert you to a very special discovery made on this trip. Two discoveries actually.

1. Logan, OH is home to a Glassware Outlet that features VERY discounted Fiestaware. You can buy flawed pieces there too for an even greater discount.

2. Fiestaware makes countertop canisters for your flour, sugar, etc. YAY!! I need this. Neeners bought me my original canisters several years ago (6? 7?). My children have confiscated the little wooden scoops that came with the canisters so that they can run around the house and hit each other over the head with them. Great fun. Worse, one of the canisters has broken and another has lost its plastic seal.

So why not buy some Fiestaware canisters, you ask? Well, the Glassware Outlet only carries select pieces in select colors. I stumbled upon the canisters at the West Virginia Welcome Center. The canisters come in large, medium and small. The medium canister was priced at a whopping $49.00. Need I say more?

We will be returning to Logan in January with the great hope that Marissa will be there to meet us. I will check the Glassware Outlet for more Fiestaware. Just maybe, I will leave with some canisters.
