Did you know...?

Did you know that Great-Grandpa's dad used to make his shoes by hand every year? His Daddy used little pegs made out of maple to tack the shoes together.

Did you know that Great-Grandma was a bedside nurse before she was married?

Did you know that Aunt Tara potty-trained herself at age one? (Theo used the potty two times today!!)

These were some of the things that I learned when Great Grandma and Great Grandpa came to visit with Uncle Paul and Aunt Tara. We went on several walks around Roanoke. Great Grandpa brought me pretty leaves and Indian corn. While he was here, he collected more leaves and acorns to take back to Michigan. We ate pumpkin pie, apple pie, cherry pie and sweet potato pie. The ladies played Phase 10 in the evenings and the men-folk watched sports and told funny stories. The kids drove everyone crazy with their screeching and hollering. Now the house seems very quiet and empty.

I hope that they come to visit again.
