Weekend Edition of Our House
This afternoon, we took a lovely drive out to Franklin County. We drove through attractive and cozy, little Downtown Rocky Mount. And we finally understood why so many people we meet in Roanoke are willing to commute from Rocky Mount (about 45 mintues away). Our drive took us to the home of a family that is moving to Austrailia this week. They were selling just about everything. We bought two chests of drawers -- one that is actually a vanity -- for $300 total. The furniture is a bit worn, but still in good condition. We could only fit one piece in the van, so I will go back tomorrow night to pick up the other piece. Pictures coming soon.
Last night, Marissa generously offered to watch Aidan so that Joel and I could attend my coworker's annual Bluegrass party. The band that plays there every year is called "Fescue". It was their music that inspired me to have a Bluegrass music theme at our wedding. We had a great time, but it was cold...even for the Canadians in the crowd.
My best news is that Aidan's very first school pictures will soon be available. He posed sweetly for the professional photographer. It was difficult to choose only one pose, so I bought TWO packages with my two favorites. Each of you will get your own copy in the mail. My only regret is that we didn't clean up his haircut a bit before the pictures were taken. When Aunt Tara comes to visit, I'm going to get her to show me how to do a *fade* buzz cut so that he has somewhat longer hair on top compared to the bottom. Personally, I think that Aidan would look good with that late 80's to early 90's spike 'do. Is it too soon to start him on hair gel??
