Chef Daddy & Other Monkey Business

Tonight, Chef served another hit dish -- grilled chicken sandwiches. Tomorrow night, our palates will be dazzled by Daddy's famous three meat gumbo. The three meats being sausage, chicken and shrimp. I have offered to help, but Joel insists upon doing everything himself...so far. Joel plans to keep this up for about a month before we switch back to our original roles. When Great Grandma and Great Grandpa come for a visit, Marissa will be in charge of menu planning and I will do the cooking. Marissa insists that Great Grandpa is a finicky eater and SHE knows what he likes.

As for why he wants to buy an electric stove, Joel thinks that our particular gas stove in its particular location is a fire hazard.

It is difficult to appreciate in the picture that Marissa found little googly eyes to paste on the invitations so the eyeballs move around when you shake the monkey's head. I love how the eyes peek out at you when you open the green envelope!
