Two Men in the Tub
Tonight, Aidan and Theo had an inaugural bath in the renovated bathroom. By no means is the bathroom finished. There is still tilework to be done. The sink is yet to be hooked up. With all of the guests this weekend, I never did get around to painting the walls. Then there is the molding that needs to be stained and the toilet paper holder, towel bar and towel ring that need to be placed. Marissa and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of an expensive bucket of Peel Away, which is guaranteed to strip 6+ coats of paint away in one coat in an environmentally safe manner AND preserve the wood underneath. After all of that is done, I can begin my hunt through the local antique shops for an art deco bathroom cabinet. I am imagining something all covered in mirrored panels. Perhaps I will get lucky and find some lights to replace the ones around the medicine cabinet. Did I mention that I gave up on the ones on clearance at Rejuvenation? They were out of my preferred style shade. Since the style is now discontinued, there is no hope for a new stock of that shade coming in. This is a good thing. It is a sign that a better pair of deco sconces is in my future.
