Fish Curse

Last night, Aidan didn't get to bed until 11 PM. We went out to eat (Chinese Buffett) and pick up a few groceries. Next, we wanted to stop at Walmart very quickly to get a fish to replace Henry and Gordon. The Walmart staff was playing the "it's not my department game" and we didn't get out of there until 10:30 PM. While we were waiting for our fish, Marissa picked up a beta and a pretty little tank to house it in.

The point of all of this and the picture is that Aidan didn't get a whole lot of sleep. He still woke up at 7:30 AM...standard Aidan rise and shine special. He proceeded to have one meltdown after another. With a great deal of guilt, I dropped him off at school. They didn't expell him, so I'm grateful for that.

The sad thing about all of this is that after all of the shenanigans at Walmart, the new fish died about an hour after it was released into the tank. The beta was dead by morning. It's not the water. The new fish was released into city water that had been de-chlorinated. Marissa had even let him sit in the bag in the tank for awhile to get him acclimated to the new space. Meanwhile, the beta's water was Dasani. Only the best for Marissa's fish. We can't figure out what we are doing wrong.

Other notes: HL is scheduled to work on the plumbing on Friday. My coworker's husband put us in touch with Wayne, a drywall contractor.
