Dear Family,
Our family is growing (no I'm not pregnant AGAIN) and some family members continue to wallow in poverty. Those that are not obscenely poor have house mortgages, car payments, home improvement woes, dependents, etc. In the spirit of Christmas Giving, let's give less packages and give more on family time. I thought that the kids at least could exchange names. Didn't know if the parents would want to do the same as that may undermine a fundamental tradition parents have with Christmas and children. But parents can participate too. If the kids think that this is a good idea, I will randomly assign each of us a number 1 though 7. Then everyone can tell me which number they want. I have not included Aidan and Theo. If you want to give them something that is up to you, but they are spoiled as it is.
The ironic thing about this proposal is that we will not be in GR this Christmas. Bah Hum Bug! Joel and I are going to put up a Christmas tree and stockings and do the whole open up presents with the babies in front of our fireplace thing in our own home this year. We will probably go Up North for Christmas next year. We've made a committment to stay home this year though.
I've mentioned this idea before. Just wanted to find out if the kids are willing to put it into action this year.
Love,
Kara
