Class Clown?
Both the Guest Blogger and I have been quiet lately due to extreme sleep deprivation. Here is a summary of the last week:
September 11 - Theo's 10 month birthday. Aidan goes to the doctor because he has an ear infection. That evening, he looks at me and says, "Let's have a baby." He then requests that I go to the hospital and bring home a baby sister.
September 13 - Auntie Marissa's 21st BIRTHDAY!! We went to Red Robin to celebrate. Theo, Aidan and Marissa got tanked on pina coladas. Theo got kicked out for standing on the table and flashing other diners. I wasn't there because I got a terrible migraine and had to go sleep out in the car, but it sounded like they had fun.
September 15 - Theo picked me up from work in his stroller and we went to lunch at Martin's. It was a lovely date. It's nice to go out with a younger man who catches the eyes of all the ladies. Aidan came home with yet another sticker strip noticeably devoid of stickers. Apparently, Aidan does not earn stickers at school because he has a little problem with chatter during non-chatter periods. The children are supposed to earn at least 15 stickers in one week in order to receive a prize on Friday. For the last couple of weeks, Aidan's strip has had a total of FIVE stickers. One third of the minimum. For comparison, I checked out a couple of other kids' sticker strips. One girl's strip was so full, you couldn't see the paper underneath. Aidan's friend who lives down the street also looked as though he had met the 15-sticker minimum by mid-week. The problem with Aidan is that he has never been motivated by stickers (reference eon long potty training experiment with a sticker chart).
It is now time for me to make Auntie Marissa's homemade meal request - Salmon with Caper Sauce. Afterward, I am hoping that we will finally get around to her birthday cake. As Aidan frequently mentions, the best part about singing Happy Birthday is that you get to eat cake afterward.
