Somewhere Out There

"Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight

Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star..."

Unless you are Aidan. Then that someone out there is an Ogurt and he is wishing to bite you. BTW, Ogurts are tall, blue and live in Ogurt houses. (DUH, Mama! Where else would an Ogurt live?) And they NEVER go to school. Ogurts have been bothering Aidan more than usual lately. He literally bolted from his bedroom a couple of nights ago and hopped in our bed following an Ogurt attack. The next day, he saw me take a sleepy Theo away from Marissa, who was allowing him to snooze on her shoulder in the darkness of our livingroom at naptime. Aidan was concerned about her continuing to sit in the dark...alone. He asked her quite seriously if she should move because, you know, Ogurts might get her in there. To his credit, Aidan is currently sleeping soundly in his bedroom without a night light.

Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the Ogurts bite!

Toddler's Creed

Some mother out there posted this and I wanted to pass it on. It describes Aidan to a "T".

Toddler's Creed

If I want it, it's mine.
If I give it to you and change my mind later, it's mine.
If I can take it away from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine, it's mine.
If it's mine, it will never belong to anyone else, no matter what.

I was hoping that providing Aidan with a little brother might help him appreciate the concept of sharing. As it turns out, having a little brother just means that Aidan spends most of his free time following Theo around and snatching toys out of poor little Theo's hands.
